Behind the Design
Kayla came to me with sketches and a vision of a woman that is confident in herself, deeply intuitive, and looking within to lead the choices that are best for her body and soul. The brand mark I designed became the focal point of her logo and shows a women at peace with herself, her knowledge, and her personal journey.
THE brief
Kayla is a trusted and experienced Birth Consultant & Doula in the Rochester area providing mothers-to-be with the resources, tools and mindset they need to achieve a Peaceful & Powerful pregnancy, birth and postpartum. When I first met Kayla, I could immediately tell she was deeply passionate about helping women own their birth story in a society that often depicts birth as a scary and stressful experience. She desired to create a space where women felt safe to ask all the questions on their heart and that allowed them to explore what they wanted their birth experience to look like. She encourages women to “protect your peace, empowerment & confidence at every stage as you prepare your unique birth story.”
With Kayla’s intentional voice, together we crafted a brand that celebrated the power of a woman’s intuition and knowing and depicted women stepping in their power as they own their birth journey. Though she created most of her website, we collaborated to ensure her website was consistent in branding, intention and the message she’s delivering. This project was deeply rewarding to be able to help Kayla create a platform that allows her to transform so many womens’ birth experiences.
